There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

zxr400 gearing

Post by ZXR_AL »

Im trying to get a rough idea on what gearing to use as a start for the following circuits:

Cadwell Park, Mallory, Snetterton and Lydden Hill.

Does anyone know of a few gear ratios i can try to start with or what have people had good times from in the past? Any help appreciated.

Cheers

You will need to do a track day mate as every bike is tuned different so will need setting for your motor

Brands 15 - 48
Lydden 15 - 49
Snett 15 - 46
Cadwell 15 - 48

Dynotech bikes might run say brands 14 - 48 so in my gearing that would be 15 - 51 i can run 14 - 45 but a 15 front is a lot better for my bike

So as you can see a track day at each circuit might help and as you get quicker you will need to change the gearing again so you can see on the motoforum why no one has answered your question

Good luck

Hi Simon,

I was only after a base setting for me to start on for when i go to the test / track days just so that im using roughly the same sort of ratio as the others.

Thanks for giving me that info though, ill give it ago and have a play around with it.
