Not gonna call it drag cos with a normal bike it's really not drag racing but...

having been put off riding on the road after a series of accidents both mine and friends I'm gonna have a go doing some quaters and flyers

apparently someone small like me if their mad n bad enough can do really good times against bigger guys on bigger bikes

I'll let you know how I get on, 1st 'race' is 2wks time :?

RobB and I did a bit of drag racing on or old zed's a few years back....was damn good fun.....the zxr is good off the line cause you can absolutely nail it and not worry about flipping it....but bigger bikes will catch up quick....I think my best 1/4 mile was something like 12.5 seconds.... I assume you doing this at santa Pod?

woooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooo

1st ever run = 103.1mph - 13.07 :D
2nd run = 105.3mph - 14.48 :D

unfortunately on the 2nd run I started the timer before I started

I was 'hoping' for 14's, never imagined I'd be soooooooooooo close to the 12's

But the bike had enough and when it went wrong, some mates spent nearly 2hrs sourcing the fault - we didnt really have a clue what it was, I just suggested it felt like no fuel was getting through so complete strip down of bike and then checking EVERYTHING that it could be. Very probably the fuel pump has packed up so going to try a new one and if that dont work then its off to the garage :(

could be something simple as the fuel filter blocked, i had a similar feeling on mine few months back and the filter was blocked with loadsa crap from the tank.

Definately the fuel pump that's packed up. Rather unusual but the filter was so full of crap it looked like it's never been changed :? Oh well, now I know how to remove petrol tank, check the system from the tank to the carbs and have renewed the filter. Just waiting for the pump to arrive and shall fit then fingers crossed she'll fire up. Only other thing it could be is the relay but everything has been checked and fuel pump is definately dead!

If all goes to plan I will now be racing @ Santa Pod on the 18th :D

wow weeeeeeeeeeeee

wadda day that was :-D

Did 9 runs in all, could of done many more but I was too tired!!

got straight into the 12's so was very pleased with that and the best I could do was 12.82 @ 105mph with best reaction time of 0.21 :smt002 :smt026

Imsimon the Honiton place wont be doing 1/4's anymore due to the airfield foundations crumbling but they are going to hold 1/8th's there.
