Bemsee Nationwide Championships reach climax at Brands Hatch - Sept 3/4
Kent circuit hosts final rounds as several titles go down to the wire

If you've got a 2005 racing championship, Brands Hatch is the place to decide it! At the beginning of October both the British Touring Car and British Superbike Championships will finish at the Kent circuit and this weekend the Bemsee Nationwide Championships reach their conclusion with several title-deciding races due to take place.

John-Paul Scott will be Kent's top competitor over the weekend the Sittingbourne-based rider currently heads the Clubman and Supersport 600 points, and has to be a favourite for victory yet again as he races just for pride, having wrapped up the title during the last rounds held at Snetterton, in Norfolk.

Scott will be out in the Champion of Brands series as well, in the chase for one of the few titles which doesn't have its last rounds this weekend. Scott currently lies fifth in the points, and will have a tough job to haul in the Powerbike riders at the head of the standings. The final rounds of the Champion of Brands are due to be held in October.

Matt Goldsmith is another racer with not far to travel to Brands, heading from West Malling to compete in the BMZRC 250s. Goldsmith currently lies second in the points but will need to do more than just win in the championship-deciding meeting; he'll need some misfortune to befall Chris Rogers, who currently heads the title race. Other local competitors in the same race will include Maidstone's Andy Bettridge and Longfield's Paul Benford.

Sevenoaks' Simon Lowes is another rider to watch, this time in the Supersport 400s. Lowes is currently eighth in the points and, although there may be little chance of him moving much higher, Danny Palmer is snapping at his heels and ready to take eighth from him, should he slip up.

As well as solo bikes, the meeting includes action from Sidecars, including the Formula 1 sidecars of Maidstone couple Bob and Lynn Greenwood, who are currently ninth in the points.

Tickets for the event cost £12 per adult per day, with children aged 12 and under getting in free. Parking and paddock access are also free.
