Upgrading

Finally got round to upgrading the hosting package, this will mean we can move to the newer more secure PHPBB software.

never thought this would take soo long, planned upgrade to take place 7th August, there may be an outage but we will be back online asap.

Have just done a full backup of the forum should anything go tits up, unfortunately i will be on holiday if it does fingers crossed!!

just to give an update the hosts tried to upgrade the servers this forum is hosted on and it didn't go to plan, since August there has been a few people mention of an error 505 bad gateway page, i believe this is either something they have changed for the upgrade or a sign of the server packing up. I did buy a new hosting package in May but have not had chance to move the website over as yet. Spoke to the old hosts and the upgrade is still in process and should be completed by the end of the year. I will try and set some time aside to move to the new hosts in case.

ive not had an issue with that, but often now (moreso when accessing from my phone), i do get a "max user connections" error from the DB...

Finally planned upgrade to go ahead next week, could be any day from Monday to Friday, any outage should be max 30 minutes, this i have got to see!!
