Very helpful thread, used it alot to do mine. Took me about an hour to modify the loom. Started first time no problems and I'm sure it runs better for them. I've used CBR600 RR2/3 coils but they look essentially them same as the ones Mori has used. Here's a couple of pics of my set up:

the stick coils are nearly all made by denso, just picked up 2 sets of ninja 250 stick coils
but any kawasaki stick coils should fit or any other stick coils should go. i know zx10's have the same spark plug whole size and depth, due to getting a plug cap off an early zx10 to replace a dodgie cap before getting the 250 coils
zx10's have a coil sub harness that makes the mod pretty easy $20 on ebay

shouldn't have to touch anything else because your just changing coils nothing else.

just got myself a set of cbr stick coils, only question i have is how do you know which coil is which ie. 1,2,3,4 .
My subloom has the connector blocks numbers but not the actual sticks, kinda wanna avoid swapping them around until it starts

The coil themselves aren't specific, just put the 4 coils in, then wire them up, left to right, 1,2,3,4 and, left coil wiring is 1&4, right 2&3, hope this helps

Fitted mine today nice and easy wiring was a fiddle but once worked out using the diagram on the first page you can't go wrong !

Used cbr600f coils and the loom from a member on here , runs perfect and well pleased as lost the weighty coils and looks tidy under the tank

okay so today I took the bike out for a run and got it up to temp ect and when I came top a stop at a junction its hunting badly now very un-even , give it a blip on the throttle and its okay for a few mins until the next junction , very strange as if you don't catch it at the junction your left trying to start it again ,

once it dies and restarts it runs fine again for a few mins then its back

under extreme load the bike runs fine so I don't think its a nasty coil .

just puzzled , first time ive ridden in on the cbr coils so will give it a few more rides and see if it gets any worse or better

You've disturbed the airbox by the looks of things - check that' seated right , check the seal on the lid hasn't been pinched / damaged.

Just before going off on holiday on mine I done another stick coil conversion - took all of 10mins and bike ran flawlessly for 900kms

Time to get it to the rolling road though as need to check the A/F with the new carbs but think for the most part I have the settings spot on as it rev's cleanly up to 16K ( Race CDI fitted ) and the clock needle hits the dead stop on the red line in 3rd gear :smt004

I'll check the air box , would make sense because when I turn the idle very slightly its then fine

Hi

After fitting a ram air box I need to fit some stick coils.

I have some off a CBR600 2006 model, which has 5 wires in the connector.

Has anybody fitted these and if so which wires go to which sticks?

Thanks for your help

Cheers
Stuart

Would anyone be able to post the length of the CBR 600 sticks along with the dismeter I can't tell if they will fit my 250 but if they would I'd imagine it'd run much much better . I would be a bit concerned if they will spark fast enough but it's worth a shot . Thanks guys
