ZXR400 6pot Tokico upgrade.

If you happen to have an ZXR you can do a direct swap over from your 4pot to 6pot Tokico's that are mounted on the ZRX400.

These 6pot calipers are standard on ZRX400 from 1989 (E4) so if you happen to find one in a breakers see if they still have the calipers on it.

I run mine with a 19mm Nissin radial master and they have saved my skin 3 times in the past month - with out them I would of been toast on two of the occasions and a very long hospital visit on the 3rd

You can also bolt the discs straight onto your wheels too

You can also get caliper adaptors of the shelf here that will allow the bigger 6pot Tokicos from ZRX11/1200's and XJR's to fit on.

If discs are getting harder to come by then Sunstar do a very nice range that bolt straight on as well - both sets of my discs are way to good to justify buying the now

Just had a wee hunt about just to make sure my info' is sound .

So, pre 98 ZRX400 have 4 pot 55mm spacing calipers so no good/advantage.

'98 onward bikes are 62mm spacing same as ZXR400H's

Had a look around the used market to see what was available and there is oodles of 6 pots you can bolt on with adapters. Most are 90mm spacing with the 62mm plates on them.

The Nissin 6pots are just pure "porn" in gold or that gunmetal grey colour.

Don't know what you would pay out of a breakers in the UK for a set of 6pot's - here they start from around 215 GBP a pair for Tokicos and about 250GBP for Nissins

If some one can tell me the centre spacing on L models ect. I will find out what else can be bolted onto them too!

Here is how my Tokico's look all bolted up.

To answer Andy's question: These are the same spec as the ones fitted on Hayabusa's , however on my ZRX the master cylinder was a regular 5/8th which was good but the 19mm Nissin radial I fitted brought out the best in them

Kwak pads are about 26 quid a side.
Aftermarket about 62 quid a set.

The Nissins I am not sure on!





They feel fantastic with the USD's , I always thought the stanchions on the RWU's were gonna break under heavy use!!
