Buying from Japan

Post by Mori Man »

Howdy all,

Been sending parts out for 2yrs now. It started of with small items and has slowly grown into a wide range of stuff - with what's sitting in my cupboard i could build some mad "stroker"

RG400 engine & carb's + electrics
RS250 frame
RGV250 gull arm
Marchesini Kompe 10 17" wheels
ZX636 usd front
RD500 bodywork
RD50 NOS tank
RG500 Sugaya pipes

As far as used parts go 2 stroke are the most sought after , and I guess that will be the case for many years to come.

New parts are still available for the ZXR here - but they are starting to get thinner on the ground. I was lucky to find a BEET NOS system and send on to Zimm :smt001 But used parts are plentyful and you just might find what your needing to complete your build here:

http://search1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/ ... 1=a&mode=1

I'm known on a few forums globally and to help new customers feel safer about using my service I built my own website (Unfortunately i haven't had much time to refine it since getting back from the UK) out lining what i do.

http://www.moriwaki-man.webs.com

To get a better deal for buyers of new items i partnered up with a local shop - I actually make less money this way but hope to give access to parts to a greater amount of riders. At 1st we set up an EBay shop which has had it's own success and gave us something to cut our teeth on:

This will soon close down as we have now got our own on-line webshop, I'm going to be spending the next several months stocking it up with parts and very soon it will have all the BEET items available for the ZXR and any other parts we can source.

at some point i hope to merge both the used and new parts together under the one "roof" and if i can get some shop space for myself then start buying in bikes to break parts off and list directly on the site. This way, prices can remain the same but i start making a bit more out of it (with a bit more work involved) so everyone should be happy.

I have done "cargo" shipments to the UK - 3 tonne of engines but my flat is too small to continue that just now.

Please don't ask about bringing bikes in unless your absolutely sure - I've probably invested a months worth of work time into all the requests I have had for them to come to nothing :smt012 Bikes in Japan are generally not cheap but for some reason everyone remembers when they were from the "bubble" era ! On a single bike your looking at around £850 to ship - that's crate, shipping and de-registration. On a group of 4 in a 20ft container there is no crate involved and it should work out at about £700 each. bikes up to 250cc are a risky buy as they never need MOT's (Shaken) so are run until they break by most riders.

Sending stuff by regular/express post has a weight limit of 30kg's , cargo has a minimum fee of a cubic metre which is around £340 to the UK (usually 7-8 400cc engines make up the cube) There is also a size restriction by post - the box must not exceed 3M (longest length + circumference) , haven't been stuck sending anything to the UK yet but have to the US and Oz as they only accept 2M boxes :smt011

Cheers,

A handy online shop to see what's available - sorry but i can not supply at their discount prices, this company is huge.

But through the ridex shop we can supply at the retail price shown , you'll need to make a request through the "contact us" part of the site and we will then process your order/enquiry
