Hello all, i'm here shamelessly to pick your collective brains, just rooting around in the engine of this ZXR400 H2, and found it has a slipper clutch in it, i've split loads of H1's, ZX-4's and i'm pretty sure they all had standard clutches in them, my question is did all the H2's have KBTL clutches? the bike isn't an SP (standard forks, twin seat, standard shock) and the motor is an H, so my next question if it is something out of the ordinary, has it got an SP box? anyone any idea of the ratio's standard as opposed to SP? thanks

Hi Johnny
what models the slipper clutches were put in is still a mystery here, i'm sure the ratios are here somewhere i'll have a dig.

there are some gear ratios in the racing kit manual here which may answer your question?

errr correct MOI, bit late in the day for a bit of a test ride, not unless I want to put the motor back together! i'd have ridden it first if i'd had any idea that it was anything but bog standard, cams and carbs all looked stock run of the mill stuff, so I guess it's time to do some homework

H2 was only made for one year 1990

Frame # ZX400H-006001-
Engine# ZX400GE015001- (All years)

They have the KBATL clutch but the Hub is different from the L models.
Gearbox is same as H1/J1 model.

Hope that helps :smt001
