weird zxr h?

A spin off from a previous post by RobB, I have created a forum so we can identify which model ZXR400 you have and to show different variations of colour schemes. Please feel free to post pictures to help others identify their ZXR400's but please keep them to factory std releases.

weird zxr h?

Post by richyrd5 »

i seem to have a strange zxr,,its suppossed to be a H model(bodywork is for sure)but the coolent bottle is under the tank?..is it meant to go there??it has(i think)a L model camchain tensioner..not the central bolt type as on other H models..later L type calipers(as i bought in error a set of pads for a L,but when they came they fitted !!).ive got a set of wheels coming soon so wondering now are they H or L wheels,,i know the cush drive is larger on the H rear wheel.is the front different diameter spindles?will they fit the H forks(if they are H forks!!) :smt017

the coolant expansion bottle is under the tank for H model bikes, L model bikes have it under the passenger seat.

if you have the screw and o ring (listed here as 130 and 670) (http://www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-1990-h2-z ... ml#results) then its a H model tensioner.

you can check the engine number and see if it matches the frame, or a H/L year bike.

i think if you have L brakes you will have L wheels, the front disk diameter is 310 on the L and 300 on the H.

That's why I mentioned it as in the camchain fitting pics I saw the reservoir by clutch cover...so h models are under tank....my discs are 300mm btw but have later calipers fitted...
