zxr400 L1 models

A spin off from a previous post by RobB, I have created a forum so we can identify which model ZXR400 you have and to show different variations of colour schemes. Please feel free to post pictures to help others identify their ZXR400's but please keep them to factory std releases.

all information in this thread is specific to L1 models.

Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

hi guys new to the forum and zxr ownership.
so apart from different colours and decals the fairings remained the same from l1 to l9??? does this mean that if the dodgy chinese fairings are advertised as 98-00 they will still fit an l1???

bought an l1 thats had a small drop. rhs fairing cracked and edge of front fairing split.

can anyone tell me why this L model has this kind of front headlight? confuddled

It's certainly an L model (1991), frame and everything is L, but this headlight really looks like fiat panda's one! :smt009

Maybe the very first one has got this one? I saw the bike myself and the shape for the headlight is made of plastic, but is not removable.

its a non-UK L1, it should have a single 55W headlight bulb, as opposed to UK bikes which have dual 35W bulbs, you might find that you dont have a city light as well (i.e. not full beam or dipped, but a small illuminating bulb when leaving the bike on the side of the street)...though you might still have the rear one.
UK ZXR400 L3 (1993) - Fully restored and on the roads, my green beast!
JPN ZXR250 A2 (1990) - Revs to 19,200rpm... 'nuff said :smt003
