Quick update,

ZX6 F3 (1997) rear wheel fitted to ZXR400 H1

Minimal modifications, swap zx6 wheel bearings for zxr400h wheel bearings, sprocket carrier bearing, circlip and dust seals are the same for both models.

Sprocket and brake disc are a straight swap.

Using 400H axle, axle sleeve and spacers, fit two 6mm spacers between caliper and mounting bracket.

Job done.

Only thing to sort is the rear hugger, have to raise it slightly.

Forgot to weigh wheels, the ZX6 wheel did feel a bit lighter.

That's looking lovely, I like the vid as well, you've got a nice little test track there with loads of corners.

What paint did you use?? I want to do my fairings but not sure whether to use aerosol or get a compressor

Top notch job anyway, keep up the good work

Hey Ross,
Sanding everything back was mainly done by hand, I found using power sander (black & decker mouse) it tended to heat the paint and stick to the sand paper.
Takes a couple of hours per panel, i started with a 180 grit and worked down to 400 grit wet and dry. Would recommend a good comfy sanding block.
I think there was about 12 layers on the tail unit, including what looked like a dulux red gloss. Worth doing i think and you know what is on the panel when finished.
All the best with it.

Hi Vaughn,
Cheers.
This is the paint i used,

Goes on well, lots of light coats, rubbed down inbetween, then 6 layers of laquer.
Hope all goes well.

Hi BigB,
According to others on a standard bike it will tip in slightly slower. Due to fitting the 636 rear shock it raised the back end by 30mm resulting in steeping the rake so tips in very well with standard rear so has probably balanced it out with the wider 180 profile, looks well and plenty of traction, I personally have found it to corner smoother, and can still throw it round.

Love this bike..all done by yourself and not farmed out to someone else to do it, nice work.

Is that a chrome oil filter?? If so how did you come across it?

Ross46 is right, K&N Chrome easy to remove socket or spanner, can also be lock wired.
