ZXR 400 L9 Rebuild pictures
This is how it started
All parts striped and cleaned now for repainting all the Silver parts
Now for all the brackets, drying in the sun!!
Now to put it back together again, swing arm and frame
Then the Bottom Yokes
Next the Forks
Nice Green wheels again
Back wheel in
Front wheel in
On it's wheel now
Engine in
Wiring sorted
Exhaust fitted
Radiator and oil cooler in place
rear end completed
Front brakes with new Stainless bolts (very nice)
Tail piece now fitted, just waiting for the fairing to come back from the painters

Just out of interest!
Did you use rattle spray cans to paint all the brackets and frame?
Cheers!

Yes Hammerite Silver on the Frame, which is a near perfect match for the original paint colour satin black for the brackets and Plasti-kote silver on the Radiator and oil cooler. I got the Kawasaki Green of e-bay which is spot on.

Re: ZXR 400 L9 Rebuild pictures
Very nice!
I've just bought a tatty L3 and am planning a full rebuild and paintjob. If you don't mind, I have a few questions.
1) Where did you have it painted?
2) Are the graphics stickers or are they painted?
3) If they're stickers, where did you get them?
4) And finally, if you don't mind me asking, how much was the paintjob?
Thanks
Nick

Re: ZXR 400 L9 Rebuild pictures
I painted all the brackets, frame etc, I got the fairings painted at local garage near where I live in Deeping St James, the chap is a friend of a friend
I managed to keep the graphics as they are over £300 from Kawasaki and the painter made a really good job of masking them off and respraying the green colour, then clear coating it all.
The paint job cost over £250 just for the fairings and mudgaurd, I did all the rubbing down, filling and prep work for the painter though.
Glad you like it.
