Looking good!

My dad used to stack bikes on top of one another while they were waiting to be rebuilt, you can fit at least another 5 or 6 in ther id say :smt003

loads of space now :D

been firing the bike up to get the water moving in the radiator and to start baking the matt black paint onto the downpipes. bike cycles through the gears fine and revs above 4k, so the clutch and sidestand removal wiring is all good! i dont know what CDI is in as it has no sticker, ill get a genuine M one at some point.

waiting on sprockets now, then i can go for a testride...well, once the tyres are inflated :D

did x-ring chain, 42T rear sprocket and a new front sprocket retaining ring are here, that sprocket is very lightweight, weighing just 280g its 700g lighter than the 45T that was fitted to the bike! im running 14/42 gearing to start with, which makes it identical to the 15/45 ratio of the standard bike, wheelbase is almost the same (i reckon an extra 10mm longer), so i can use this as a base setup and see in which speed/gearing direction i need to take for the bike. also 14/42 provides a bit more chain longevity than 15/45.

next up, purple ti sprocket bolts and chain adjuster screws...

things to do:-
fit the engine and radiator brackets - bought, awaiting the postie now :D
fit the side panels once the engine brackets are here, then finish off fitting the front screen
pump up tyres
fiberglass the rear (damaged) tail plastics into a racing single seater one-piece jobbie...but i can get away with road/track testing the bike without this for the moment and i will eventually fit a purpose made one with a foam pad.

then we are ready to rock and roll!

sprockets are on

in this you can see the green tube attached to the rear brake, thats my rear brake fluid reservoir :D

i had to remove a full 2 links from the chain, 110 wouldnt let me get tension on the chain, so im now running 14/42 108 links, a damn sight lighter than before (almost 1kg lost!):D i reckon i can go from a 14/40 to a 14/45, maybe a 14/46 without needing a new chain, at 13k RPM that means a spread from 120mph to 133mph which should give me some wiggle room to find a nice setup.

ive put the carbs and fuel tank and seat back on, waiting on the rad/engine brackets, fit them, then fit/drill the plastic side panels and front screen, the rear tyre is on closer inspection fooked, its got 2 plugs in it and im 99% sure its punctured, so ill be on the hunt for a part worn rear tyre to stick on to get the engine/carbs tuned up.

other than that, just need to fiberglass some bits, give it a damn good wash and do some painting and its good to go :D

ill take it, but it might be a month from now, ill probably take both, my fzr engine is finished painting/polishing, so im off to get that tomorrow so im now skint :( no more cash left for bike bits :(

i need to get the wheels properly washed, then powdercoated by a mate (not sure what colour just yet), then ill get them fitted by another mate along with new bearings (might as well), got some new sprocket nuts (the old ones are starting to round badly so ive only nipped them for the time being).

im buying a cheese press with me next lot of "bike" allowance, so it might be 2 months at this rate...wanna get out before "summer" ends :pmsl

Summer has already ended hasn't it?! Got my knee down for the first time on Tuesday, haven't had enough summer since to practice more :smt012 and yeah that's fine, doubt they'll be moving along with the box full of moped bits, the rs125 and the box of cr250 bits :pmsl and cheese press? Is that a nickname for a tool or a press for making cheese? :smt017

it was one of the few boxes we had left, hope the filter sorts out a few fuelling issues for you, from memory my k&n leaned me all the way from low to high rpm, so expect your fuelling to richen across the rev range.

for me, the k&n was the only way to get the pilots to fuel properly, was way, way too rich before with stock filter.

my rad brackets are on and ive temporarily "fixed" the LHS rad bracket - the aly tab it attaches to has been broken and lost a long time ago so ill need to get a new one welded at some point...gotta buy a few fairing brackets and then i can drill the fairings and have it looking like the front end of a proper bike :D

might get the scales on it soon, i know there is a ton of weight still to be lost, 3-4kg exhaust, 2-3kg subframe, 1-2kg clock/fairing stay/front subframe bits, 1kg scooter rear brake+holder, dummy tank maybe? it still feels heavy, but i would like to weigh it to know what its currently standing at :D

It was generally running weird, rich sometimes, lean others, all since I did all the seals in the carbs, might get some gloat needles to finish it off, then after that start playing after I get my valveshims, so for me its;
New float valves
Change the filters over
Maybe some new mains as its running lean with the snorkel removed and the k&n but it sounds great :smt007
Then im getting a compressor tomorrow so I'll be spraying soon
About the tyres, I want to get my spare carbs cleaned and make one good set out of the two, would you be interested in a negotiation with tyres and carb clean?
