ZXR FIXUP

Post by Simifeltham »

So After I "crashed" my zxr I decided to fix it up myself and not give a fortune to the service :) So here you go you're welcome to critique. I slipped on a oil patch locked the front wheel and lowsided on the left side. Ripped the generator casing off and broke my fairings and indicators so the damage wasn't too bad.
Stripped the bike with new generator casing already on

Filled and Sanded all the fairings ready for painting. Primed and painted

Tail Painted now ready to paint the side and front fairings

And the finish product now just waiting for the MotoGP 2008 Decal Kit to come p.s. Wheels and seat cowl also painted black (happybunny :excited )

It does look good, how long it take to spray? Done with spray cans? And I wouldn't have painted the bolt collars on the side fairings, they cost a fiver each! And on some on the generator casings the "zxr" is painted a different colour, I would have done that to break up the black slightly, but then again you will have the decal kit. Where did you get it?

Thanks. Took me about 2 days to paint with spray cans but about 3 days total with all the filling and sanding. I sprayed them because the bolt is so round nothing will grip and get it out I'll have to change that. Yeah I've seen the zxr is usually different colour but I was in a bit of a rush to get it done because I needed it to uni on monday and this was a thursday-sunday job :P I got the kit on ebay.

Well done, I bought all the kit to spray my bike with a compressor, though apparently 2-pack is a bitch to use, trying to find someone to give me a hand
