ZXR400H

Post by jadrace »

Hi All,

I have a ZXR400 H which is running a CDI with the red letter A on it.
Is this the std CDI for an import?
Is this a restricted CDI?....if so which CDI should I fit to remove the restriction?
Any help or advice on getting a bit more power from my H would be welcome.

Cheers,

Gary.

there is a great thread on here somewhere with pics of all the different cdi's, with descriptions of each. Except the search function doesn't seem to work with the phrase "CDI"! Try having a rummage in the electrical/ignitions section, should be near the top.
I do 700 miles a week in all weathers including snow, that's roughly 35,000 miles a year, and some weekend warrior biker has the nerve to get out of his Audi at work to tell me to I was riding far too fast in the wet (over taking at 50... fast eh?).

L CDI wont fit the H directly

Either fit a speed limiter off box , Kmh to Mph convertor , open clocks and break the tang off or do your own resistor/loom splice.

More power - Full exhaust , carburation or FCRs , slotted cams dialed in.

But no more tips until we see pics of the bike :smt018

yes pics are a must! I saw a green H ride past me while i was at my mums restaurant about 2/3 weeks ago, was pretty much all standard - the guy stalled at the junction bless him - bike was clean and tidy though... Riding up Eden Park in Beckenham... Wonder if that you?

Mori.. Know of any bigger carbs that'll fit directly to the H without any major mods? Also, with regards to cams... Would the bike have to be timed if say SP or Kent cams are fitted??
