Get the number from the headstock off the frame.

Re: Frame Number - ID your bike
Ok, here's a dumb question, but where do I find the Frame Number? It's not on my US paperwork -- where can I find it on the actual bike? What/Where is the 'headstock'?
many thanks,
Sig

headstock is the section of frame between the upper & lower fork clamps.may need a flash light to see. the zxr400 was not sold in the US so what type of paper work do you refer to?

Re: Frame Number - ID your bike
Has anybody have an issue that their number was not found?
I checked a few times, re-entered the number, making sure there's no typos ... and still it claims that "Please check your frame number!" ... I take it it was not recognized .... now I am worried ...

Re: Frame Number - ID your bike
So I read about few other people having a difference between frame code and the code returned by the Japanese site.
So I just went for the first lower ZX400K and from all of a sudden the number was right ....
In my case, ZX400L-xxxxxx on a frame is actually model 1991 ZX400-K2 .... does that make any sense? Is that because 1991 was a split year between K and L models?
BTW, I had no clue there was K model to start with ...
