I hope not. They feel too heavy to be hollow anyway. They need to be solid cos a hex bolt goes through the middle to fix it to the clip-on clamp.

ok then replace them with some same diameter steel tubing? then add bar end weights

or as i said earlier replace with ZX6R handlebars which already have them in

i'd say they are almost certainly hollow, and probably surprisingly thin walled as well.

probably got a threaded insert welded/pressed into the other end.

im pretty sure they arent, one of the bars on my ZXR is ground at the end, ill have to take a picture, in fact ive got a replacement so when i change it ill cut it in half and prove to you its solid

i havent chopped. i drilled them so the locating stud for the electrics could be moved and its solid. trust me. i live in wales

Just incase you haven't started chopping your bike up yet

I always used to get a numb throttle hand until I had to replace my throttle cables. Once I put the new ones in they were oiled and greased up. The throttle was tonnes smoother and I didn't have to hold the throttle so hard. It made loads of difference so if your throttle is stiff or sticky then a good oil up and lube may help!! ( I wish I could have written that differently

toad thats a good point. that was one of my ' to-do ' jobs. changing oil, filter , plugs, cables. best i get onto that. thanks for the reminder
