i was looking at a XJ900, can pick them up for next to nout now and are good bikes for the money. But considering i commute 20 miles each way on very very fun back road i dont think i fancy a big lazy commuter..

commuted for a while on a Gilera runner 180. Cheap as anything to run, i think i paid £20 for a front tyre. fast enough to do 80mph comfortably up the motorway, and actually handled reasonably well. Not to mention I could stick a change of clothes and my laptop under the seat.
I used to do a 65 mile round trip on that, including some nice roads

at the end of the day, i have fun whatever im riding - you just need to get into the right mindset for it
