* fit braided brake lines
* fit carbon tank guard
* find out/try to fix my sidestand switch
saturday was too cold to do anythin, so went round baz's and sunk a few beers!
sunday(today) - weather better, so i thought i would have a go at changin lines, knowin that as i struggle to know the right end of a socket wrench it may take a while.
well, finished fitting lines and bled them in an hour! only thing that delayed me was a) worrying about drippin fluid on bike and b) i fitted the rear line onto front by mistake! oh well, could have been worse, i could have bled the front lines b4 realising my mistake.
anyways, an hour later i was please with what i had done so decided to focus my attention to the tank guard. had to remove the existing fake tacky looking kevlar/carbon look stick on jobby that the previous owner had fitted. thought this job would have been quick. long story short, i think the fooker had stuck it on with superglue, and after giving myself a partial hernier (spelling) removing it, i notice it has left all of its sticky thick adhesive behind! :smt013
anyway, with a little help from my trusty carton of window cleaner
at this stage i walked away from bike with a very happy, satisfied feeling inside myself. an hour or so passed, and then i decided to have a look at my side stand switch
i took off the left side fairing and lay next to my bike, couldnt fathem why it wasnt working, but could see a shite load of gunk and crap on it. so i wipe it down and blasted about half a can of wd40 at it, at same time moving it back and forth.
and hey presto it now works,
well chuffed with myself, and i know it sounds daft, but i felt a sort of connection with my bike today.
if i can do it, wnyone can, and im kicking myself for allowing bike garage to charge me shed loads of money to work on my bikes in the past, after realising that with a little confidence and planning, most things can be attempted by a novice
