what a weekend

Post by Caz »

sorry.... just had to share......

Packed the bikes into the car on Saturday morning and headed off to the 'ring. Arrived at about 4pm which gave us chance to unload the bikes and part with huge amounts of money for my Jahres ausweis before the track opened at just gone 18:00. Managed 2.5 laps before the track closed. Felt a bit lost out there for those laps - they have done tonnes of resurfacing..... Several of my turn in points have disappeared!!!

Sunday was aboslutely heaving - I have never seen anything like it. Huge queues of cars to go through the barriers and to get in and out of the carpark. Fortunately, if you were going at a decent pace - the track was quite alright.
Monday was much better - still quite chaotic in the morning, and a number of closures. Cars dumping fluids on the track meant that it was closed for bikes on a couple of occasions, in addition to the other closures. Theyve put some red/green lights down at Breidscheid so you can tell when it is closed for bikes - very useful
Still managed to get a good number of laps in - would like to have done more, but was too knackered!!

I think the lap tally for the weekend was somewhere in the region of 25 - dunno exactly how many.

Anyhow - im still grinning like an idiot, and cant wait to get back over there.

It's awesome over there, but horribly addictive :P The sole purpose that my other half bought a Grand espace (instead of a smaller car) was to put the bikes in it so we didnt have to ride accross Belgium.
The other advantage of a car is that you can stock up on beer before you head back!

The only pics I took were drunken ones in the Lindenhof - Monday night got blurry!! There are so many people there that take much better pics than I do so I leave it to them!
I havent had chance to look for pics properly yet, will post some links up when i get them! I do have tonnes of pictures from last year tho.

Next trip we've got booked is at the end of August / beginning September. I can see us fitting another one in before then though - i dont think i can wait that long for my next 'fix'

:D
