i just bought an EK o-ring chain for £50, a chain's a chain at the end of the day, just keep it lubed.

i managed to knacker an iris chain in about 3000 miles, and thought they were crap.. but the iris chain fitted to emma's bike has done 12,000 and still going strong, largely because i like mine looking clean and used to wipe all the muck off it cos it looked better and she just whacks more lube on and doesnt care if it looks manky.

would you believe myself and pyscho paul (traitor to a z thou now thou!) tried to fit his new chain and sproks today, and bugger me if we couldnt even get the plate on without it fling all over the sodding garage!
tried mole grips, pliers, piece of 2 x 4 braced again a wall behind the chain and a lump hammer, punch too, err.....flat head screqdriver...thought sod it buy a proper tool, but just wondered if there WAS a secret way on the jedi's knew?

You could use a couple of small washers to go over the rivet ends, a thin plate of metal each side and a mole grip, personally, i just use a proper chain tool :smt003

i finally got mine o b hammering the toad outa it. i then took it to a garage and they said it was fine. i took the chain guard off and used the bracket as a anvil points and hammered it on using a small socket over the rivet. you have to be brutal though.

Rob is on the right track not washers but two M6 nuts do the trick for me
Plus the mole grips
