Started out on one of these:

Then it got swapped for one of these:

Motor had so much torque you could pull away in top gear , i put the front wheel against the kerb stone outside the house to help bed the clutch in and it dug a hole in the tarmac :smt003 Spent all my YTS cash on it making it back to road legal and it got nicked :smt010 By the time I got my provisional licence I had 9 points to go on it :smt005

Spent more hours off the road than on with both :smt004

I didn't do the moped route and went straight in with a 1992 Yamaha TZR '125'.

I say '125' because after riding it for a year when I had to get another 125 before my full test (and the ZXR400) my test rides on proper 125's even de-restricted showed mine to be a bit of a beast that had been bored out to buggery and might even have been 200cc+:

Had a "S" reg CG125 - 18BHP

Done a bit of work on the motor and was clocked at a constant 90MPH on it - took a fortnight to get there though :smt005

I'm about to add some info to the owners website as i regularly blew the engines up :smt005

But really they should be indestructible with push rod engines :smt004

The ZXR.

Wouldn't have ever been seen dead on something that I had to sit on with my legs in front of me, or something that looked like a sports bike but went 'NYIMM nyim nyim nyim...'

So I jumped in at the 400 marker, first bike I rode (just down the village and back) being a CBR 400, and then bought the ZXR eight days before passing my test! :smt023

My first road bike at 17 was a RD125DX like this, but with some microns on it: Mental little bike though.
Image
Then I got a TZR125R Italian import 33bhp when I was 18
Image then had a gap for a year while waiting for my provisional to renew, and I kept the black one with all its battle scars and for my 21st birthday, my boyfriend at the time bought me a white one like this
Image
it dyno'd at 36bhp, and I went for a ride with my frined Cahrlie on his 33bhp restricted GS500, and basically showed him the way. Ha ha. It was mental.

then did my test a couple of months later and sold them both to fund my ZXR400.

I am very keen to get a TZR again, cheap tax, cheap insurance, and best of all that smell of 2 stroke. I have been without a sttroker for a year now, and I have to admit I am having withdrawal symptoms.
