welcome tot he forum!

Could be anything really as to why it wont start. Is the battery well charged? Have you got a good spark? Were the carbs empty? As they can take a while to fill from empty.

Did you replace L/H model engine with L or H model engine?

Are plugs ok? getting fuel ?

Check plug leads to coil packs? good connections?

Fuel pump ticking or starter motor?

We need more information if we are to help.

1) is the engine actually turning over?

No = flat battery, failed starter relay (although the clicking sounds like the relay), have you connected the starter motor?,

Yes =

1) Is the fuel old
2) Is the fuel definately getting to the carbs
3) Is the battery fully charged (try starting with the battery jumped to a car battery)
4) Are you getting sparks (if none check all the electrical connections, then check the ignition rotor on the new engine is the same as the old engine, then test with a different CDI)
5) If only some sparks then test the coils and the HT leads

If you have fuel, sparks and the engine turns if it still wont start - are you confident about the new engine and the valve timing? If the inlet valv timing is not right then starting can be difficult
