Re: New back end ;-)
Thanks for the comments , so happy with the back end ive painted the front top fairing and now working on all the repairs to the side panels.
My first problem was the pearl white did not follow on to the bottom of the panel on one side, then i noticed the kawasaki sticker was blue one side and black on the other and that one blue graphic was paint and one was a sticker, one side had clear over everything and the other wasnt. then there was all the cracks and crazing , that looked like nothing till i started digging around.
Got the repairs finished ( and there was alot more than i thought after i got the panels off, managed to get them back in pearl white and the blue graphic on , should get the green on tonight then back on the bike . still waiting for the R6 undertray
, promised to be here today

Cheers man,
Mines the L1 KE scheme too!
I have a couple of sets of spare panels and tanks that I was just going to shift as they have a shite spray job on them (origianlly all KE, i've rubbed them down to investigate) but if i'm going to get some paint to spray my tank flap I may as well get enough to paint the spares too.

Re: New back end ;-)
Ooh you had cans.
I think they charge about £35.00 a litre of mixed paint. There paints not great compared to someone like RS but it's a 1/3rd of the price
And I forgot all about the cans tbh, to do the tank flap i'll prob just get a white and green can as they only mix litre +

Re: New back end ;-)
Good work, one thing to add. Angle the bottom of the plate out slightly, vertical numberplates look bloody awful IMO.

Re: New back end ;-)
looks awesome - just the one question - once you have chopped the seat and seperated it out - what did you use to fill inbetween these two sections ? and how did you bond it together - what to do similat to mine !
Thanks

Re: New back end ;-)
Hi after cutting both sections down to where i wanted them to be , i used self tapping screws to hold the sections in place, while i checked the fit, i wanted all the panels to look factory finish and pick up on the original mounts, (also on the new rear sub frame mountss) i bridged the big gaps with stainless steel mesh , its strong and easy to mould. i then removed all the screws and tigger sealed all the panels then replaced the screws , next day i took all the screws out and the tigger seal holds it as one panel. next i drilled a load of holes in the first 25mm of each panel ( something for the fibre glass to hold to) then it was just a case of fibreglassing over the holes and mesh, making sure the fibre glass pushes through the mesh and holes. fine filler to finish the high build primer to finish off. 2 coats of white primer before the top coat goes on and a good flat with 1200 wet and dry.
