Blue or White valve springs ?
Just spoke to Cradley, they have identical looking valve springs, but some have white paint and some have blue paint - What's the difference chaps ? Am rebuilding a race motor, but it will only rev to 14500 - I dont want to use the wrong springs as I have had 3 piston to valve meetings in the last 2 years !

Cant remenber what the difference is but the blue ones are the spring of choice...............
Something must must be very wrong if you have had three meetings in two years between piston and valve.................

Re: Blue or White valve springs ?
Yes, not great eh ?
One was rebuilt / tuned but we didn't replace the cam chain or slippers...One we revved too high for too long and the most recent I think was caused by an old valve which probably stretched a bit too much. I reckon I did about 5 days racing on it but didn't check the shims - From now on I'm going to do it (now I have learnt how to) after each meet. I'm also having the head and valve seats cut to new stainless valves by Serdi, with new springs going in too.

Re: Blue or White valve springs ?
Blue springs use the thin valve spring seat, white springs use the thick valve spring seat, whites were off the early h models from memory.
Blue is generally what you want.
