must just be me that dosnt understand buying a fast, expensive to run bike then toddeling around on it as if it was a gs500...

Still at least he was using it even tho the weather wasnt grate i'll give him that

I'm actually really pants at the moment on wet corners on my nice sensible Bandit! :smt009

I'm so slow in tight corners and on some roundabouts I'm ashamed of myself!

It's freaking me out being in the upright position and having bars that actually TURN...

I must look like it's my first -ing bike most of the time... :smt009

Give me back a nice sensible and safe Winter sportsbike!!! oldman
Who needs tyres when you've got knees!!

which brings me back to self preservation. The roads are in such an abysmal state that its too damn dangerous to ride quickly.
Alot of my friends have basically given up riding on the roads, and when they do, they take it easy - me included!! I did IRO 5,000 miles last year, I reckon less than half of those miles were on UK roads.

Dont judge a book by its cover and all that, and just because you are prepared to ride quickly in these conditions, it doesnt mean that everyone is.

Not enough twisty one-way toll roads in the UK? :smt002

Rene, I think you need to look at your CBR600 rider from the reverse direction. How about....loves riding in the summer and is fast and confident, but can only afford to run one bike, when it comes to the winter what does he/she do? Stop riding and be another car driver getting in your way? Or slow it down, ride through the winter safely until it warms up again?

In other words, try praising the rider for riding all year round, not damning them for riding a bit more slowly when it's slippery.

What's better than going round the outside of a CBR600?

Outdragging a 2003 BMW R650gs from the lights on m battered little CRM250. I did cheat - I only used one wheel. :smt002

Nobbly tyres, wet road, it was great. Made me feel alive!!

BMW F650GS - 50bhp, 60Nm, 175kg dry.
CRM250 - 40bhp, 36Nm, 125kg.

Looks a bit less impressive when you consider the power and weight of the respective bikes...
