thanks again everyone, well this morning i put the battery in again cleaned the contacts tried to pull out plugin connection on junction box but couldnt get them out, pulled out and cleaned connections on ignitor box, switched on and it started first time put eveything back still running put the seat on and it suddenly stopped again, so i checked the earth (thin black wire front of seat loop hole connector to bolt) which came off in my hand. so i thought great i,ve found it ,got anew one but before i fitted it i checked resistance from earth from battery connector to bear end of wire and it read 5 ohms (i thought should be 3.5 which is what i get if i touch both the test probes together) anyway fitted new loop hole connector and still wont start, just the same click from junction box. tried also running a wire from earth on battery to bolt but just the same... this must be something really simple to those who know what there doing but i,m a gasman that repairs boilers.. i have took the battery out put in on a trickle charge although i still dont feel it can be that because it started no problems and was running when it stopped as if switched off.

just to let you know i got my mate to have a look tonight, he watched me put the battery in again pressed the start button and nothing again just the click, within 5 min he took the plug off the starter solenoid then pushed it back on and hey presto it fired and kept running, so we put every thing back together tried it again and it fired first time , infact tried it loads of times and started eveytime, so touch wood it seems he fixed it for me and it was nothing more than a bad connection, so all i need now is for some dry weather on thursday to take it for its mot .. so just to say a big thankyou too all who took time to offer me help over the weekend on this site
