girl at work spent friday night on the M5. she wasn't best pleased (was complaining this morning about having to go for a pee by the side of the motorway)

I had to get from Brum to Cheltenham on Saturday afternoon. M5 was just solid from about J5 to J8 because there was nowhere else you could drive. I got bored at J7 and tried to find another way, got as far as pershore, turned round and rejoined the M5. Even the bits that were open had obviously been underwater recently with mud and abandoned cars all over the place.

oh and to everyone that had said "global warming isn't caused by humans, it's all caused by cows farting, eat more beef" or words to that effect...

has it ever occured to you quite why there are so many cattle in the world?

what's with all this global warming crap?? i'm freezing!

the irony of all this is that I had the best ride I've had for a long time yesterday in brilliant sunshine.

My fun route up here from birmingham. A38 out to bassetts then A453 up to tamworth, on up through No Mans Heath, short stretch of the A42 then off and up through castle donington and long eaton.

clean, clear roads, plenty of grip - successfully de-chicken-stripped the rear to within a few mm of both edges.

went out for a quick blast yesterday, was fine untill you got to some spots were the rain had washed loads of pebels and grit onto the road. Manged to dodge round them or skid though. Still was a nice 30min ride

starting to wish i hadent bothered insuring the bike this year though its £500 i could have quite easly spent on alot of other things

just dodged the monsoon only to have some twat of a lorry driver (think that threads in the rants and raves) pull across the road about 50yds in front of me, then some stupid women in a peugot too scared to go round the island more than 5mph in case she loses control. :smt013

I went out at 12 to Morrison, got my knee down around the island on the way back, then just as I sat down back at work Noah's Ark floated past the window!

It's quite surreal looking out there now!

Anyway, I shall be prepared on my way home - I'm going to let some air out of my tyres so the bike doesn't float as much!

It's pretty wet up here in Cleethorpes, although not as bad as last year, there's no serious flooding yet. I live on a hill so I'm not too worried, but I feel sorry for the people a mile or so down the road. Most of them have just moved back into their houses after last years flood damage, they must be crapping themselves.
