I totally agree, and I think everyone does, maybe I should have explained it a bit clearer, this is the guy than owns/runs BDK. It his own bike and as I understand it done to prove what could be acheived. When asked what it would cost if he was to do it for a custmer I understnad that it would be £20k. But no one in their right mind would actually pay for it :smt018 , :smt002

And agreed, the fastest bikes are usually down to the fastest riders, not necessarily on the fastest bikes :smt002

BTW you sure it wasn't a bird on the orange ZXR ? there's not many in orange that I know of, but Jen races one :smt001

No.
disagree. you could. but it would be

a) expensive (definitely)
b) unreliable (probably)
c) not eligible for racing in pretty much any class.

if you could put up with all those, then I bet you could get 100bhp from 400cc. No harder than 200bhp from 800cc and motogp bikes make more than that (and hey, the WCM motogp bike used ZXR400 valve springs, so they must be ok!).
OK, perhaps I, and you, should have clarified it a bit more. I would say no out of a modified road bike engine, but yes on a purpose built race engine :smt002 :smt003
