Have you checked the pilot jets aren't blocked as all carb bikes run off the pilot jet first then main for the larger throttle openings.I took mine out for the first time last week, it's been sitting around for a couple of years , it started of fairly well but bogged down after 100yds run like a ba g of toad and was throwing oil smoke out of the pipe. Got it back home and he pilots were totally blocked again, also there was a lot of crap in the fuel filter!!

i have been having this same problem with my L1 beig very flat below 4k, im in the process of taking the carbs apart and cleaning them. i found the pilot jets slightly blocked and the little filters underneath were the floats are were also quite dirty.i may also adjust my needle height while im there as they were right at the top im gona put them to the middle and go from scratch from there, ill let you know how i get on
