Once (if?) I own a house outright, I'm going to sell it and buy an F40. I'll be homeless and hungry, and eventually wilt away. But when they find me dead at the wheel, I'll look like this ->

im sure clarkson said it would go round faster thank an F1 car. i actually like the way the veyron looks but yea the Zonda would be a good contender oh what about that corninstag will its pronounced like that but its spellt like coovhefhqeofhnfoeqirfvh think its sweedish. mint thoe.

I'm pretty sure an F1 car will out-accellerate a Veyron, and unless you put a hell of a lot more downforce on the Veyron it wouldn't even be a contest in the corners! I reckon old Jezza was exaggerating a bit...
There are a couple of cars I forgot which are beautiful and very fast:
SSC (Shelby Super Cars) Ultimate Aero might actually be faster all over the place than the Veyron, and just look at it!!!
EDIT: Correction: "On 13 September 2007 Shelby Supercars (SSC), manufacturer of the 1183 hp ultra high-performance Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo, set the new “World’s Fastest Production Car†record with an average top speed of 255.83 mph in West Richland, Washington."
And another great car for a bargain that holds the 0-100-0 record, the Ultima GTR
Actually that SSC is growing on me more and more every time I see it...

That ultima reminds me of those Radical SR8's. They do the Nurburgring in under 7 mins!

ahh that koeneigseg is beautiful ahhhhh sweeeeeet i think these super cars have to look noticably different from the rest to be a great success. ah if only i had the money. i would defo have 1 of each.

thats not true at all (feel free to prove me wrong with actual facts) granted strate line its fast but stick it in a bend and it hasnt got a chance in hell.

well i think its gona be pretty good it will have traction controll an that, all the mod cons that an F1 aint allowed to have. plus we have clarksons word. but its possible he might have been carried away

lol traction control is only going to slow you down unless you have no idea about power control.
An F1 car makes enouth down force to drive upside down, there is no way what so ever that a road car is going to round a track as fast as one

I think the biggest thing would be the weight!
Even shoving a full aerofoil package on a Veyron I couldn't see it touching an F1 car around a circuit.
It's probably worth noting that an F1 car would also slaughter the fastest GT racecars - like the Audi that's dominated Le Mans. And I'm pretty sure a Veyron wouldn't stand a chance against one of those, either!

I doubt a Veyron will outrun an F1 car, purely because of all the aerodynamic advantages it has as well as the weight of them, they weigh loads less than they are supposed to so they ballast them up to make them the right weight in which case they can move the ballast about to the advantage of the car.

ahhh clarkson is gay it would appear the F1 would sloughter it in every way according to this i basicly read the first paragraph then got bord lol, althoe i did find a nice vid of the veyron slaughtering a SLR on the strech.
Ok so here i am with a true battle , it is Bugatti Veyron Vs Formula 1 car.
No doubt the bugatti veyron is the fastest , powerfulest car , but will it win the battle........
lets begin.... Bugatti veyron , a car generating 1001 bhp having a top speed of 406km/hr . It generates that from a monsterous 8 litre engine with 16 cylinders (2 V8 blocs welded together to form a W shape) and with 4 turbos .
Power : veyron generating 1001 bhp . ok . but what it requires ? an 8-litre engine with 16 cylinders and 4 turbos ? . On other hand a formula 1 car can generate around 950 bhp from an 3-litre engine (to be noted) with 10 cylinder configuration (to be noted) and with no turbos or super chargers (to be noted).
Top speed : The veyron runs at a top speed of 406 km/hr whereas a formula 1 car can achieve a top speed of 375-380 km/hr.
Acceleration : It is hard to believe that inspite of having a smaller engine , less cylinders and with no turbos the formula 1 car had outperformed the veyron in acceleration . The veyron accelerates from 0 - 100 km/hr in 2.8 secs compared to formula 1 car's 2.2 secs. Veyron goes 0-200 km/hr in around 6.7 secs whereas formula1 car takes around 4.7 secs.Veyron takes 14.0 secs to reach 300 km/hr from rest while Formula 1 car takes around 9.2 secs.
bhp/litre : The Veyron can generate 125 bhp/litre while a formula 1 car can generate in excess of 300 bhp/litre.
So if you are talking about what power and speed you get from a car , it is veyron win the battle . If you are talking about a real battle i.e a real technical battle , it is formula 1 car win the battle . If you are a mechanical engineer or a mechanical engineering student than you can understand how formula 1 car had outperformed the veyron by a massive difference (as i am a mechanical engineering student I can get it).
