24ltr fuel tank needed

Hi, does anyone know of a manufacturer of a 24ltr fuel tank (L model)?
Carbon fibre or Ali.
This years race bike is coming together now, all bits sourced and in the process of being fitted.
Lets hope for decent BHP, sure it will happen as I have the No1 man on the job.
Wont be long before I pick her up and throw a leg over in anger.
Please drop us a line if you know of anyone who either makes these tanks or has one for sale.

I hate to burst your bubble guys but you cant get 4 laps out of 24 litres on a ZXR400.........................
Best you can do is stop after one lap and top up or stop after 3 for a splash and dash................
I've got the tank and tried and failed

yeh but you,ll be able to do three in the newcomers. its been cut to three laps this year. then for lightwieght you can use standard tank. do a two and two....i hope

OK then
Lets look at the issues here.............
My 24 litre tank will NOT fit with my airbox that and the fact it wont do 4 laps means I've not used it for a race.
The tank was used orginally by Blair Degerhom (forgive the spelling) I believe he used it for a 3 lap TT 400 race
Dont ask me how he got on.
The IOM is a wonderful place and the weather is strange to say the least and I have had the thought that I should keep my 24 litre tank for the day that the weather cause a one lap reduction in my race.............it's not happened yet.
However there could still be advantages in having a 24 litre tank for a 4 lap race................but the big question is when do you stop.
One year a guy had a 3 lap tank on his 600 he pulled in after one lap he was in second or third place a quick stop refilled his tank and he was fuelled to the finish
However the pit crew of the guy who was leading thought he had stopped after one lap and was out of the race and the leader got a pit board early in the second lap that gave him a substantial lead (but only because the other guy had stopped for fuel) The leader who thought he was gone and winning eased off a little and thought he was cruising to a win by the time he got the that the other guy was closing fast it was too late he (the leader) stopped at the end of lap 2 while the other guy flew by and won the race. He had the advantage of two flying laps as well whereas the other guy who stopped after two laps only got one flying lap.
So fox the opposition have a very fast pitstop and get two flying laps..............all good.
Now that wee trick works well but it might fail if the weather is dodgy and the race gets stopped after 2 laps cos you will have pitted while everyone else wont.
There are lots of little senarios that can be played out using a 3 lap tank in a 4 lap race as my mate and pitcrew chief says there is a lot of sky in this jigsaw and dozens of blue pieces.
I'll try and post a picture of my tank to give you some ideas...............and no it's not for sale.

Thanks for the advice and assistance.
Just want to have the option in case of damp, rain etc and in all honesty I'l probably ending up with an expensive ornament in the garage.
Cargo, it seems to me that you have a collection of parts that may rival Roger, and that's no mean feat
I'll be interested to see what people bring to the party this year at the Manx, roll on August for two weeks of Sun, loads of marshalls, no diesel spills and ambulance free.

If the class will allow it a set of ZX6r forks will slide right into the stock triples. ZX6r forks/brakes/wheel and your done, I've got an 05 set on my bike. With a brembo master and vesrah pads I usually just brake with one finger. ")

The class rules for the Manx GP are completely free...................if it's a 400cc four stroke then it's allowed.
And that conversion is absolutly fine

you use Vesrah pads?!
the last time i reverted to them from some real pads, i nearly ended up in the back of a car! I could feel exactly the lovely moment when they started to glide over the discs, mmmmm, that lovely warm feeling it gives you..... in your underwear!
DP pads all the way. They stop better than EBC's or Ferrrodo's sintered pads, they don't mind the rain, oh, and all 3 sets i've tried on different bikes have not needed bedding in, unlike the EBCs that i cooked

Vesrah race pads, RJL or SRJL, Much better than EBC and the ferrodo's I've used.

ah - i was just thinking normal or sintered veshrahs, which my gpz does not like! race once will be alot better i expect!

They're VERY popular here in the states. They last too, I've gone a whole season on the 400 with one set. No warping like the EBC's. I've get a set of the EBC extreme on my R6 and they work well once you get some heat into them, a buddy gave me a set to try, they're much better than the other EBC's I've used.

To some it may seem crazy but I race with the bog stock genuine Kawasaki brake pads and have no issues whatsoever they are brilliant.
