L Model forks question

as above, were there different spec forks fitted to the sp models/import etc? just the ones ive removed from my bike have an adjuster on the bottom on the opposite side to the caliper mount that most other l-model forks ive seen (and the k-tech fettled ones ive replaced them with) dont
