So I recently turned up at Mallory Park on a trackday to find that the noise limit was a rather petit 95db, which was on the website (I just didn't read it). This is a bit of a joke in my eyes, the circuit has been there for 100+ years, why do people feel the need to move into the next village then start to moan about noise pollution?

Would you move next to an airport if you despised planes or didn't want aircraft noise?

Would you move into the centre of a busy city if you wanted to live in noise free, chav free area with no nightlife sound?

I think people should really look into where they're moving to, aswell as the agents doing their job to ensure the possible tenants know about local attractions or areas that may cause them to change their mind. Even for a ZXR such as mine which isn't the quickest in the paddock, I can still churn out 103db without the baffle and believe it or not with the baffle AND WADDING, my bike only just made it to 98db. It was only after letting the bike warm up for some time that I just managed to pass the noise test, although it did seem close to blowing a gasket, infact I seemed pretty close to blowing my top too.

I was half tempted to write a letter (not an aggressive one) and post it through all the postboxes in Kirby Mallory, just explaining that this is what we do, this is what we love and it's not fair to cut the noise on what can be taken to the circuit, especially on weekends!!!!!

that would require common sense mate. no chance of that happening anytime soon. anyway, look at the parallels...vehicles now have better brakes, suspension, traction control, ABS, etc etc...so speed limits are going...DOWN of course!

it'll solve itself in 10 years anyway, you'll only be able to race electric bikes and wont be able to afford a billion quid a gallon of unleaded anyway.
