How easy is fitting a 33bhp restrictor?

Hi Everyone,

I will be buying a ZXR400 saturday, and as i'm on a restricted license will be restricting it sadly!

I have the washers, and am planning to fit them myself, but was wondering how easy are they to fit for a non-mechanic.

I have a bit of experience with mechanics- Oil Changes, Moped Riller Weights and Clutch springs change, and car stereo fitting, but am still fairly inexperienced.

So yeah, to those who have done it themselves, how hard is it? And how long would it take?

Thanks guys! :)

takes about 1-2 hours,

remove fuel tank, airbox and carbs.

then remove carb rubbers and fit the restrictors there (im pretty sure they go between carb rubbers and engine), refit and you are good to go...but only at 33bhp :(

I had never touched an engine before really and took me about 2 hours. the hardest part was working out how to get the tank of - you have to remove all the fairings

there is no need to remove the lower fairings, only the tail fairings and the one that covers the front of the fuel tank (L models)...once you know what you are doing you dont even need to remove the tail fairings, but it does make getting the fuel tap off easier.

I've found it's easier to put the tank back in with the rear left fairing removed, otherwise it's tricky trying to thread the tap between the subframe and into the hole in the fairing. For the few extra minutes it takes though you might as well remove both :smt004
