low vacuum on cylinder 1???

as title suggests just assembled my racebike, replaced inlet rubber and checked vacuum gauges no issues at all, compression tested and is fine but when i attach car balancers i have practically no vacuum on cylinder 1 yet 2,3 and 4 are fine. could this be caused by anything other than an air leak? sticky float maybe?
any help would be much appreciated as my 1st race is april and i still havent been testing/set suspension up

is the bike running on all 4 cylinders fine?
can you feel air being sucked into the #1 carb if you remove airbox/whatever you have for your race bike?
could there be an obstruction in the #1 vacuum connection port thats blocking the gauge from working? this will be more obvious if the bike runs on 4 cylinders and you can feel air being sucked into the carb.
good luck, and if you are racing local and need a second pair of hands i cant guarantee i will be available, but if i am i dont mind helping out for nowt, i would like the experience myself.

You know what you could be onto something there, bike seems to run on all 4 and revs up fine so could well be. Still need to resolve it as I can't balance carbs but will look into that tomorrow. What's your closest racetrack? I'm at cadwell, brands, Donny, snett, oulton and pembrey this year help will never go amiss as by April I plan on having 2 bikes ready

pembry and snett are 3+ hours away, so they are out, brands hatch and cadwell park - ill let you know closer to the date (i take it its just a day's racing?), donnington park i can definitely do.
ill be travelling on my bike so i can take a good selection of tools...but as i assume you will be taking a van/trailer, you will be pretty much sorted...but it never hurts to have an excess of tools, and gaffer tape, and cable ties
if you can PM me the dates i can provisionally add them to my diary and confirm them with you a week (if thats long enough time) before the race? once you get the bikes ready it might be a good idea for me to pop down one evening just to familiarise myself with them, do you have an extensive list of spares/consumables/experimental items?
so thats donnington - yes, oulton park - 70% yes, brands/cadwell - i will have to see...shame your not racing at silverstone or rockingham...both are ~30 minutes away...
