HELP! Indicator dash light only works for left side.

My Indicator dash light only works when indicating left.
Battery voltage at relay. Left rear bulb is blown, right side front and rear is fine.
No continuity between the two terminals on the relay.

Any ideas? I've got a MOT booked for Friday and I don't want to fail it!

More testing reveals continuity from orange lead at relay to both green and grey when switched to their respective sides on the switchgear.

God I hate indicators, check that the wattage in the bulbs is both correct, that you have continuity between both switch lives, check that you don't have a short between the wires from the left side to the bulb, check you have power at the bulb holder when you press the left indicator, if not, follow it back until you find power, I can't tell from your post, do any of the left indicators work?

All bulbs have correct wattage. I have continuity from orange at relay to both green and grey at the dash bulb when switch is in the correct position. Left front, right front and right rear work.

That's a job for the morning since I don't have any spare. I'll keep everyone informed!

Not always.

i think a better post would have been:

"one of my indicator lights blew, i replaced it but now the dash light only comes on when turning left...suggestions?"

Don't get too offended columbo, the point we're trying to make is that you've posted that you've got a blown bulb which is the first thing that you should change, that may fix it, if it does then the post becomes sort of redundant, change the bulb and if the problem still persists then get back to us and we'll try to help, at least if it does fix it then it will likely help someone else, it drives me nuts when people put a post and dont put whether the solutions provided work or if not what did help, the posts in my eyes may aswell be deleted because they aren't much use to anyone else
