Taking the engine out ?????

hi, my mates blew his zxr4 up last week and he cant afford to get a garage to take out the engine, so were gonna have a bash. Is there anything we should know before doing so? any help would be great!

you can take the engine out without the aid of a lifting arm im told. makes sence i guess the bikes not to heavy. i dont think its all that hard im sure there are people who will tell you how to do that, perhaps Gubbs he has had the engine out in his my build thread mate.

advice, make tripley sure you've disconnected EVERYTHING before you're ready to drop it out. drop it onto a tyre is about the best thing I've read on here, its not too weighty that you couldn't stop it going down hard though.
Lube the exhaust with pentrating oil a few days in advance.

alternatively, take the front wheel out, lower the bike down until the sump is nearly on the floor (prob need a headstock paddock stand). support the engine with blocks, unbolt, and lift the frame back up.

thats how i normaly do it, apart from mine was from netos, for about £8
or get someone to lay under it and get them to hold it up, now thats intertament
