It got me thinking while posting on vintage computer topic....of old phrases your parents or relatives used to say and how daft they are.....come on peeps you must know some!!

Like - "Do you want a good hiding?" -------since when has a hiding been good?

"If ya break ya legs don't come running to me!" ------eh? forgive me for being thick, but you would'nt be running anywhere?

one i always use when the kids ask where you're going is "off to see a man about a dog" thats all my parents use to say. (pissheads!!)

"Dont start crying or ill give you something to cry about!" Im already crying about one thing why would i want something else?

and

when they used to smack me "have you had enough" would a kick in the bullocks be out of the question?

When my parents said i couldnt have something for any reason, my answer would be


"WHYYYYYY?????"

My mom or dad would simply reply

"Z"

Took me till around 7 or 8 to figure out what the f*** they were on about. Im not slow!

had the one "have you had enough?" like i'm goin to say no. heres one i bet you havent heard, i'll leave you in the corner in a pile of blood an snatters. yes, my mum was cruel when i was growin up. she said that after chasing me round the kitchen table with a breadknife. thank god my dad came home from work early that night for a change. then again i was a wee shite growin up, still am i suppose, according to my ex, lol.
