Howdy folks!

well, before i settle down to indulge in my highly frownded upon, but equally enjoyable habbit i thought id post a pic of my latest buy.....well, impulse buy but i HAD TO HAVE IT!

for years i have trawledthe action sites, dvla looki for a good private reg, i bought my fiancee one when we first started courting....(knickers off faster than rossi on whizz!) and always wanted one for my bike.

i just got my show plate printed.....purpl border original reg in 3d and Bestie at the bottom.

Saw this on ebay and emailed the seller with cash offer below his 4 figure asking proce, and VOILA!

i think the last pic looks like darth vader with my name as a smile!

what do yer think?

i hope you see BESTY, with the lower case revered E..some peeps see beasty, which, well, if i do say so myslef, i am a bit of a tiger between the silk sheets an all, but i wanna know what my fave forum thinks!

and how it may look on a k6/7 gsxr 750 in stealth black?

i truly am moving to the dark side!

cheers
B9STY errr bestie, no, besty...fek it!

does your other habbit grow on tree's by any chance ?

Looks nice, I want a zxr one, there must be loads of reg's out there with zxr at the end. If I ever see a car with it I will leave a note under the wiper with an offer lol.

Irish imports have a Z in the plate on occasions

Had a old saxo VTR with number plate RBZ 8856 fyi

basically you can't have Z unless it's a new style one (eg AB 12 CDE). So unless you have a post 2001 L9, you can't have ZXR.

Irish format plates do allow Z. In fact three letter combinations always contain I or Z. But the Z is always the last letter. so no luck there either.

can you not register a new style plate to a pre 01 bike then?

no. basically if if the plate indicates a particular year, ie...

1) ABC 123D (really old)
2) A123 BCD (old)
3) AB12 CDE (current style)

then the rule is that you can make your car/bike appear older than it is, but not younger.

So if you had an X reg bike, you could have anything with the year letter at the end (1), anything in (2) from A to X. But you couldn't put a Y reg plate on it or any new style reg (3).

Really old plates (group of 1-3 letters followed by a group of 1-3 numbers) and irish plates don't say anything about the age of the car. So you are allowed to put them on anything, because there's no way you could use one to pass off a car as newer than it actually was.

[edit: the final point that I meant to mention was that the current style plates came in on 1st September 2001 (with the '51' reg). So if your bike was registered after this then you can (and will) have a new style number. So you can have a AB12 ZXR reg, subject to the same rule that you can't make it look newer than it is.
