Very windy in the West Mids this morning - with some hefty lashings of rain to go along with it.

It's actually darker now than when I came to work 30 mins ago!

One thing I HATE about this kind of weather is that all the car drivers suddenly drive like they've borrowed their Great Grandchildrens car and they're scared of it!

It's only -ing rain! If you'd spent more than £5 on your Korean 'tyres' then there wouldn't be a problem! :smt013 Added to that, most sportsbikes are more stable at higher speeds, so getting a side-on gust at 20mph causes a much bigger wobble than if I'm doing 60! So get the fk out of my way!

On the bright side, it's my first day on the ZX9-R in the rain since I bought it, and it was very tame and felt like it had loads of grip! I'm definitely falling in love with this bike!

Anyone had any mishaps with the wind this morning?

And how many times do you think it will set my alarm off today?

only had to dodge a few branches on my way to work but nothing serious yet!

East mids is exactly the same. Was howling with wind but quite bright when I rode in, but it's horizontal rain now.

Believe it or not, I actually found something this morning that can stay ahead of a bike through rush hour traffic - and it was one of those monstrous Ford pick up things - the ones that make a Hilux look tiny, and only come in LH drive because noone's stupid enough to officially import such an utterly unsuitable vehicle into the UK.

Anyway, one of these can stay ahead of a bike through traffic - because there's just no f***ing room to filter past as they meander about the lane, bouncing off the kerbs and everything else.

It's worth pointing out that I will routinely filter between buses, etc on my way to work, but this guy was at least as wide and utterly unpredictable so I had to just sit behind.

our neighbours have got one 5.7 litre supercharged as well as a 4.6 litre mustang and 2 x harleys.

Im still studying the weather to see if its worth it, might have to get the old bus money out!:(

took my ZXR down to get MOT'd this morning, cant ride it for toad (first time on it in 6months as i've been loving off road bikes so much) felt all wrong, cramped and horrid, time to turn it into a track bike me thinks...

any way was having some fun (having power again :O ) 120 coming into a roundabout slowed it down and took it at a very tame pase compaired to what i normaly do when the wind hit me side on, nearly dirifted strate into the side of the roundabout :S very windy indeed!

riding home should be fun, the rains going sideways at the moment :S

Weather is pretty lairy here too. Im glad its tipping it down tho, our drain blocked up last weekend and theres grey slop all down the pathway down the side of the house where we tried to unblock it by digging out years of food (carrots peppers, rice, onion etc....) and tipping down hot water along with what the washing machine chucked out while we were doing it. Landlord has unblocked it, but i need the rain to wash all the toad away!

You should make the most of it - forecast snow tomorrow...

I think I might even go for a quick lunchtime blast now the rain's stopped!

strange isnt it! but they are far more fun! plus there comfitable and far easyer to filter, no wonder SM's are out selling sports bikes now. Cant wait to get mine

SM easly, sorry but untill you've riden on properly its impossible to understand how fun they are! you have be willing to piss everyone off round you tho pure hulagon tool! burn outs at traffic lights, wheelies past old peoples homes, power sliding round u turns, its what biking is all about fredom to do whatever you want and not be affraid of braking the bike!
