I've just managed to fit a radial front brake master cylinder from a ZX10R to one of my ZXR400 L
It cause me a little trouble to fit it and I had to remove the throttle return/close cable..............no big loss
Also I had to turn one brake line through 180 degrees.
A twist grip with the cables coming out from the top would make it esy to fit......................anyway
It looks great and this weekend will tell if it is an improvment over the orginal one
First race of the year is Saturday
Brakes upgrade ??

second pics would be nice!
How come you went with the 10r items insted of the 6's? surlely the 6's would better suit the weight?

Re: Brakes upgrade ??
What's the difference/advantages?
I assume it should give better braking power - or is it to reduce fade?
I have to say I always just assumed all master cylinders worked the same...

Re: Brakes upgrade ??
No not all are the same
The size of the master cylinder and it's relationship with the size of the calipers can make a difference
also I think that the radial master cylinder is less hard work for my hand/fingers ?
i bought a ZX10 r one because thats the one I found on Ebay if there had been a ZX6 one I might just as easilly bought it.
To be honest I was looking for a Brembo one but thay are very expensive and I'm a poor hard up racer on a very tight budget
I'll go get a picture NOW !

Re: Brakes upgrade ??
Pictures sorry they are a bit crap
The little bracket I made for the resivior is temporary cos the pipe wasn't long enough. I'll get a longer bit of pipe for Saturday.
Another thing the bleed nipple on the master cylinder made bleeding it very easy

Re: Brakes upgrade ??
Like the clipons low or what??!!!
I too have been looking at the brembos/ap ...just a bit to much wedge at the mo.
The cheapest way around the throttle cable position i found, was a domino quick action throttle..25 ish quid, one cable, and spins around so you exit it where suits, then i move the switch gear to the other clipon, cos i cound'nt find a better quality kill switch than standard...it also has the starter button if you use a starter...
anyhow let us know, cos ill get one meself if it makes the difference
