i'm in lincolnshire but don't mind travelling. Thinking about doing the build myself now the only things i need to know really are do the barrels have individual seals at the bttom or just the gasket? and what do you do about rings oversized etc? do you just measure the bore? hanks Daz

You would only need over sized rings if you had the barrel rebored to match and you'd need over sized pistons as well

A bloke called graeme france in brigg is a very good bloke. Builds race bikes but i'm sure he would be happy to rebuild your engine....

Pistons and rings are a Kawasaki only part so you need a Kawasaki dealer

Best is Cradley Kawasaki

Don't forget you will also need to have your barrels machined given the cost involved it might be cheaper to buy a good second hand barrel

And to be honest you would only need to do this at all if you bores are badly worn...................what sort of mileage is on the bike.

What makes you believe you need to do this

The bikes done 20k i'm just asking for advice really as i've only worked on car engines. so if the bores are ok what do you suggest just new rings? i presume theres a tolerance measurment for the bores in the manual? i may strip it down myself yet as it doesn't look complicated :smt003
