Quick question re. zxr 750 J1 model

Post by RickTaff »

Can someone confirm whether or not this version of the Ninja has ram air? I am convinced it doesn't and those hoover pipe things on the tank are just cosmetic. Apparently those holes on the tank where they enter, are actually blanked off inside said hole

Have a friend who thinks he knows it all and will not accept that I do not have ram air on this model :smt003 :smt003

I thought ram air was those intake pipe/tubes found next to the headlights on zx7r's etc.

you are correct and he is wrong.

The air tubes on this era zxr750 and all models of zxr400 help to bring cool air to "near" the airbox, so they are just cosmetic.

The zxr250 is different, the hoover tubes direct cool air over the reg rec (located above the coils, under the fuel tank), and the bike does have ram-air, but it's via a slit in the LHS fairing in between your knee and shin.
