Corrosion

Hello,

I'm in the progress of finishing up my rebuild. I was changing all the hoses and had a slight hiccup today.

Story is, I've been looking at the source of corrosion in the cooling system. Turns out that the metal pipe where the water pump connects to the engine is badly corroded.

I've had a look at the diagrams and it seems that only one bolt is holding it to the pump assembly.

My question is can i just undo that bolt and yank the metal pipe out to get it cleaned up/ replaced or is it something a little more complicated?

Cheers!

yes , assuming you've drained the system, just remove the bolt and remove the water hose from the other end, obv.

Just remember there is an o-ring under the metal pipe (above the pump) so either replace or make sure to seat it properly
