Im putting some new hoops on my bike very soon and im set on Pilot Power 2cts as 2 of my mates swear by them but there running an R6 and a CBR600rr

anybody running/ran these tyres before and if so what sizes are the best

Im going to put a 120/70 on the front but its the back im wondering about the smallest size i can find is 180/55 as at the moment i have 160 something

Will the 180/55 physically fit with the hugger???

Just done a bit more digging about these

Power Pilots?? are they as good as the 2cts also 120/65 seems an odd size for the front is this better than the 120/60

and again the rear will a 170/60 run ok.....

I found a post about 180 profiles not working right with zxr 400's so will a 170 be sound?

why not use the 160/60 it's designed to have?

Edit - where abouts are you looking, I've not seen a single option without 160/60 rears? And as already said, a 70 front on the road is pointless. And will feel horrible at slow speeds. And slow the turning. And alter the speedo reading. And might rub on the fairing under heavy braking...

having a different size front tyre other than standard for a road bike can make the speedo read incorret.......for a road bike i would only use standard size tyres as this is all it needs.

so sticking to 120/60's and 160's on the back is recommennded then ye?

Sorry never put so much thought into tyres before my bike before this one was a cbr125 and that basically had a few rubber bands wrapped round the rim for tyres lol

yes, stick to the stock sizes. Had a bad experience with Michelin so i don't really use them... what sort of riding do you do?

er..... vigorous commuting about 25 miles a day with a mixture of dual carridge way tight twisty bits and long sweeping bends all in all not a bad ride to work everyday.

My mates got an r6 n he swears by em plus the people at demon tweeks have them on there gxr1000 and zx10r and both say they have supreme grip wet and dry so they sound good to me.

What happened to you on them if you dont mind sharing

i can't remember exactly which ones i was using at the time... lets just say i didn't find the wet grip too good didn't actually bin it but came pretty close. I found they kept spinning too. Not tried the 2ct's though so they'll probably be much better.

I'll be honest, i have a similar sort of trip to yours, doing between 200-300 miles a week and i've recently fitted some Pirelli diablo stradas. I really like them and even in the weather we've been having have been really impressed with them... just a thought since the 2ct's are pretty soft - they won't last long!!
