can a front rim be repaired

Post by Deano2485 »

Hi I have got a front tyre that has a slow flat after a track low side on closer inspection I can see to areas on the sealing edge of the front rim where it runs out away from the tyre (don't know if this was like this before and the paint hasn't been damaged) can this be repaired or could the slow be caused by the bead being pushed in and broken in the crash

Get a spray bottle with water and fairy liquid in it, pump up the tyre and spray it, you'll see it bubble at the site of the air escaping

I had a slow puncture a while back.
Turned out that there was some corrosion on the rim lip where the rubber sits.

A wire brush soon sorted it out.
