Hi the last 2 days iv been stripping my brakes due to a clunking sound which is driving me mad, i was just going to replace the pins in the calipers which where pretty bad but when i went to clean the tops of the pistons inside the caliper they started crumbling away
Pistons were a nightmare to get out i managed to pump one caliper with the brake, The other caliper wouldnt pump out as i ran out of fluid i think.
After various attempts of trying to get them out with compressed air and other things they had to get pulled out with molegrips !
These are the pistons now cleaned
Picture number 3 this piston is what im worrying about although i have been told this shouldnt be a problem as its not going to be near the seals
Iv got a new seal kit ordered and some red rubber grease to rebuild the brakes.
Question is are these pistons ok ?
Do i need to rebuild my master cylinder ?
And new pads i was looking at brembo ones anyone used these before ?
Thanks
rebuilding the brakes
