USD Fork Oil

I am just about to overhaul my H model USD's and just wanted some ponters as to what oil to use.

Am I right in saying it is Grade 0 and 405ml +-2ml per leg?

Is there a prefered brand?

Having never done this before I am going to create an overhaul thread for other "virgin" overhaulers!

Any tips for an easy rebuild would be much appreciated :smt001

Thanks MI, that'll be a great help - will probably use Kawasaki's own oil for the job.

Will let you know if I'm left with a pile of parts afterwards :smt017

Halfords charged me £12.99 for 500 ml of synthetic fork oil.

I was robbed!

Make sure you aren't. :smt011

I followed Diesel's guide and found it excellent !!

Treated the bike to Silkolene Fork oil and they're smooth as you like now :smt007

To save on time I woosed out of doing the overhaul myself :smt053

The shop is only charging 28quid to do both legs and I got a litre of Yamaha's USD oil for 9 quid - couldn't arque with that so handed them in with the bag of bushes and seals. :smt003

This has given me time to get other parts pre-paired and finished, will pick up th forks tomorrow night and install on Thursday all going to plan :smt003

£28 !? Bargain ...

Its only a 30 min job, but most places will still charge £50+ for _anything_
