Scorpion race can and insurance

Post by claireyskillz »

Hi all
Been reading here for a while but first post I think!

I have had my n-reg bike for a year now, it has a scorpion exhaust which was fitted before I bought it. Just wondering for insurance is this classed as performance enhancing? Or do I need to try to find out more about which product it is? I'm a bit of a noob I'm afraid!!
Thanks!

im pretty sure that you need to declare all modifications, no matter now trivial, bar ends, new levers etc...
UK ZXR400 L3 (1993) - Fully restored and on the roads, my green beast!
JPN ZXR250 A2 (1990) - Revs to 19,200rpm... 'nuff said :smt003

You'd be best asking when you phone up - my last insurers didn't class it as a performance exhaust unless it increased power by 5% or more

I dont declare mods.
AFAIK everything but the mods are insured.
Never had any prob claiming in the past.

Thanks for your replies.
I didn't realise that an end can being "for race use only" means it's not supposed to be on the road. Even though it's passed the MOT ... confuddled
Never mind. I'm gonna change it back. Can't afford any potential trouble with my driving license...
